About Team 100

A Dynamic Force Feeding Long Beach Families

Team 100 is a local philanthropic group that launched Food 4 Kids to support underserved children and families when school meal programs end for the weekend. We work closely with nonprofit Food Finders to supply 15 Title 1 elementary schools in Long Beach who serve 80% low income families. Each school distributes around 30 food bags to families in need, packed and delivered by volunteers every Friday. Children return well-nourished and ready to learn on Monday and school administrators report the children served achieve better attendance and academic performance.

Testimonials About

Team 100’s work.

“I write in strong support of the Food 4 Kids program and the Team 100 volunteers who make a huge difference in the lives of some of Long Beach’s neediest students. I can think of no other cause that is more deserving of your support than one that provides the basic necessity of nourishment to some of our most disadvantaged children and their families.”

Christopher SteinhauserLong Beach Unified School District Superintendent

“We appreciate so much what the program provides, the students themselves ask for bags because there is no food in the house. In some situations, the child has to fend for themselves.”

Oropeza Elementary SchoolSchool Staff Member

“It has been an amazing program! If there is any way we could get more bags that would be wonderful as we have a high number of families in poverty. We are extremely grateful for what we regularly receive.”

Signal Hill Elementary SchoolSite Director

“Currently, the (Food 4 Kids) program is running great at my school! We give your Food for Kids program a 5 out of 5 rating across the board.”
